We use streaming technology to deliver each of these recordings to your computer. Streaming is the delivery of media content over the Internet using data compression and this process allows you to start playing the recording as it downloads, thus saving you from downloading the entire recording before you can hear it.
To listen to audio, you need a sound card and speakers or headphones for your computer. To use streaming media, you need media players which operate as "plug-ins" in your web browser.
Our recordings are stored in Real multimedia format or in MP3 format.
You must have media player software from Real installed on your computer to listen to the Real format. This software is available from the Real web site and their new media player, RealOne Player, is available free of charge. You are required to register for the software and you will need to provide your e-mail address and answer some basic questions about your computer. Once a Real media player like RealOne Player is installed, you should be able to listen to the recordings.
There are many common MP3 players, notably Windows Media Center, available free of charge.
You can download either format to your own PC to keep or to transfer to your MP3 player by doing a right click with the mouse (pointing to the format you want) and choosing the "Save Target as.." selection from the menu. You can then choose the folder you want to save the file in.
