How long have you worked at Edenton Street?
I just started working here in June 2010; I’ve been a member here more than 13 years.
What’s your favorite thing about working here?
Having a feeling of complete satisfaction about what I’m doing!
What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you here?
I can’t remember, but I do laugh a lot!
Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Clinton, NC, and raised on a farm in Sampson County.
Where did you go to school?
Methodist University.
How many children do you have?
One daughter, Miriam (married to Ryan); three granddaughters: Mattie, Gracie and Zoe.
Any pets?
A teenage cat named Georgie.
What is most important about your work with new members and visitors at Edenton Street? What drives you? What is your passion?
Hopefully making a difference in their lives for more than today! Introducing folks to ministries offered at Edenton Street that will help grow their faith. My passion is getting folks “plugged in” to serve.
What two people have most influenced you?
Family and friends.
What are your favorite books, movies or songs?
Books that help me grow spiritually, right now books written by Brennan Manning. A favorite movie: The Sound of Music. It’s too hard to pick song favorites. I enjoy lots of music.
How do you like to spend your free time?
With special people in my life, reading, playing piano and singing (without an audience!). Not having to be on a schedule is the best!
If you weren’t working at Edenton Street, what would your profession be?
I’m also a real estate broker and a former teacher, but I haven’t previously felt the same satisfaction I’m feeling here (I think God had a plan!).

Seafood
What do you order when you go to Starbucks?
Venti Mocha Latte or Breve Misto
What did your parents call you when you were in trouble?
I only remember being called by name. Maybe I never misbehaved (just kidding!).
