Pastoral Care

Pastoral visits to our hospitalized church members are dependent upon the patient's consent and personal notification of ESUMC. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) makes it illegal to give out patient information without the patient's consent. If a church member does not give permission, the hospital or healthcare facility may not even disclose that you are hospitalized. Our clergy and staff respect the privacy of our church members.

Please be sure to notify the church office or a Pastor of your hospitalization, or request a family member or friend to do so on your behalf. A member may also choose to notify the church office and elect not to be listed publicly on our pastoral care board. We maintain a list of hospitalized members, births, and other special family information of those who have given their consent. Members can also notify the church office and request their names to be placed on the prayer list. Thank you, ESUMC Staff
