Housing & Construction

Habitat for HumanityHabitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. Edenton Street UMC is proud to be a part of these efforts. Habitat provides an opportunity for people to put their faith and love into action, bringing diverse groups of people together to make affordable housing and better communities a reality for everyone.

This hands-on mission experience gives volunteers the opportunity to roll-up their sleeves and give a tangible expression of God’s love to families desperate for a home. Additionally, it gives volunteers the chance to know the families who invest hundreds of hours of their own labor — sweat equity — into building their Habitat house and the houses of others.

For the past few years ESUMC has been part of what is called a Habitat for Humanity Apostles Build Team.   The team consists of local churches that come together to build homes with and for God's people in need. As part of the Apostle’s Build Team, ESUMC commits to providing volunteers a few Saturdays throughout the build.   All skill levels are welcome and needed.

Our next build date is:
