How You Can Help

How You Can Help
"I've learned you shouldn't go through life with a catchers mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back." Maya Angelou

Looking for way to help us complete our mission?  Consider volunteering your time or making a donation.  We are always looking for people and supplies to help out.

Volunteers
Volunteers are vital to our success! Currently we have some great volunteers who come consistently and share their gifts of companionship, devotionals, music, art, and pet therapy. We encourage individuals and small groups to please share their gifts with us through volunteering. We would love to have regular storytellers, piano or guitar players, and/or those interested in helping us with exercise or physical activities.  Please contact us to discuss volunteer opportunities.  Call 919-832-7227, or email us.

Donations
There are other ways you can help us out, too! We will gladly accept monetary donations or supplies. Our standing wish list includes:

  • Washable paints and markers
  • Colored pencils
  • Paper plates
  • Cardboard egg cartons
  • Paper - Drawing, foam, and/or construction
  • Seasonal crafts
  • Stickers
  • Music - especially CD's from the 1930's through 1960's

We also have a small lending library of items that have been donated to us, including walkers, canes, wheelchairs, and books on Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia.

If you have something else that you think we might be able to use, please contact us.

Financial gifts
Here are some examples of how your financial donations can help us:

  • $21 covers the costs of activities for all of our participants for one day.

Because we are a non-profit organization, your donations are tax deductible.

Annual Gala Benefit
The Red Rose Dinner Dance is our annual fundraiser held each spring. This fantastic evening includes great dinner and dancing, additional entertainment through a special program, and live and silent auctions featuring the work of local artisans and community supporters.

Each year at the Red Rose we also honor people very important to our mission, and we hope you will join us in making the 2011 Red Rose a very special night. Please contact us for additional information at 919-832-7227 or email us.
