A BRIDGE INTO A NEW SEASON
There is something about fall that’s unparalleled. We love the cooler weather and the beauty of our trees and leaves. But even more so, we love the excitement the fall season brings in the life of our church. Children move up to their next Sunday school class, the youth group cranks back up (we have over 100 kids taking part), new adult classes have begun, and we are re-engaging in shared rhythms.
Fall is also a time to reflect and give thanks for the many ways God is on the move in our midst. For over 200 years God’s Spirit has lead us as we worship, study, serve and have fellowship with one another. As we look back with gratitude, we also seek God’s guidance as we move into a new season.
Our Stewardship Mission for 2024 is underway. Our stewardship theme is “A Bridge into a New Season”. We recall how the Lord pushed the waters back and turned the sea into dry land to save the Israelite as they escaped captivity. God provided a bridge for the Israelites into safety. (Exodus 14:21-22). We believe God moves among us now to provide a bridge into a new season for Edenton Street United Methodist Church. God creates a bridge to lead us into the future.
We invite you to make a financial contribution to the church. If you have not done so, please complete the 2024 Pledge Card online and register your 2024 Pledge with us. There are also Pledge Cards in the Sanctuary and the Gathering. If you want us to mail you a card, please just email or call us.
November 5 is Commitment Sunday, so you may plan to bring your Pledge Card to church that Sunday.
God has been generous to us in so many ways, and we in turn are asked as God’s disciples to give back a portion of that generosity. Help us continue to be the hands and feet of Christ in Raleigh and throughout the world. Thank you for your prayerful attention to the financial needs of our church and for making a pledge.
