I sing in the choir for the traditional sanctuary services at our downtown Raleigh church. There are also contemporary-style services with a talented band on-site and a more gospel-style service at our Southeast Table satellite location. All services offer weekly communion. We care about racial and economic justice and equity, though we are still learning and growing. We are blessed with thoughtful pastors, capable staff, and willing volunteers.
You will love the contemporary service! My daughter and I visited the church one time... and we were hooked! Seriously, my daughter is four years old and she loves the Sunday school class. I attend the 9:30am service and the church is relaxed and comfortable. I definitely recommend you to visit. This church values diversity and God's Word.
I first attended ESUMC at 18 when I first attended NCSU for undergrad. I was an on-off again worship service attendee. Throughout my adulthood since 2002 I have always found coming home to Edenton to be welcoming and open minded. I prefer the traditional service, but I attended the Gathering for years too. Now I sing in the choir and find great joy as a single 30 something feeling part of a community that is open and welcoming to all walks of life. I enjoy exploring my personal faith journey here, and I especially enjoy the music at this church as part of the worship service.
