Praying thru Holy Week
"My house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples." - Isaiah 56:7
On Palm/Passion Sunday we pray for our community. Join us at 9:00 AM on April 13th as we walk around the blocks of our church to pray for our parish before worship. For those who do not walk, we will have people in the Chapel that can pray with/for anyone who may be in need of prayer at that time from 9:00 to 10:00. Throughout the week, we invite you to download our church app, where you can find daily prayers under “worship” as well as the “prayers for our parish” we will be using on Palm/Passion Sunday. Then, we will have a Holy Saturday Prayer Vigil on April 19th. The sanctuary will be open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for those who wish to pray in person, or you can pray off-site if you desire. Prayer guides will be provided.
Palm/Passion and Holy Week at ESUMC
Palm Passion Sunday, April 13 - Joint Service @ 10AM
Come begin Holy Week at a special joint service at 10:00 on Palm Passion Sunday. We will begin outside the doors of the sanctuary, and then the children will lead us into the sanctuary waving palm branches and singing “Hosanna.” Throughout the service of worship we will experience a dramatic retelling of the last week of Jesus’ life, from his triumphal entry into Jerusalem to the crowds crying “Crucify him” to the cross. Prior to the joint worship service, we will gather 9:00 am to then be sent out to walk and pray over the places and spaces that make up our parish.
