Women’s Ministry
Women’s Retreat
Feb 5-7, 2027
Holiday Inn Resort Lumina in Wrightsville Beach
Join us as we grow in faith through scripture, worship, prayer, music, friendship, and fellowship. Reverend Hope Ledbetter-Bock will lead us as we study what it means to be Rooted in a Larger Story.
United women in faith
We are a joyful sisterhood, acting in faith to tackle the hard work of the world without hesitation. There are many ways to make an impact. We act boldy to provide for the homeless and for equal education for all children. In addition, we provide protection for the oppressed. We support organizations in local, national, and global locations! Our ministries' outreach includes but is not limited to the following: The Methodist Home, Shepard’s Table, women and children in African countries, local homeless children, White Flag, A Place at the Table, Oak City Cares, inter-faith Food Shuttle, etc.

Life Groups
Life Groups provide an intentional space for a small group of adults so they may connect with their peers, grow in faith, and feel seen. This intimate space, ranging in size, provides attendees with room for different groups of women to connect! From women in their late 40s and early 50s who have children in college and/or are recent empty nesters, to young adults in their 20s to 30s! The unique aspect of these groups is that there is an on/off ramp system to bend to our busy lives. Commit only for a few weeks at a time! You are always welcome!
Join Us! Tuesday, September 8, 2026, for our after-summer restart! The location of a Life Group is usually at the Facilitator's home, but it can vary from group to group. We'll share the official time and location closer to the event. Interested in creating a group of your own? Reach out to Denise Baker!
Women’s Task Force
Members of the Edenton Street United Methodist Church Women’s Task Force are a group of women who are interested in diving further into any women's ministry opportunities in and outside our communities to present to the Church! We host meetings and help others bring ideas to life!
Our Mission: The purpose of this organization is to facilitate the newfound and present Women’s Activities, Ministries, and Organizations of Edenton Street United Methodist Church.
Please reach out to become connected with this group to Lillian Huebner!
The date and time of these meetings are determined between attendees on a bi-monthly basis and happen on the ESUMC Campus!

Room 251

Women of Faith Book Group welcomes Rev. Ned Hill discussing "Brightly Shining" by Ingvild H. Rishoi. "It's a heartbreaking, funny and philosophical tale about the reality of addiction, the power of dreams and the kindness of strangers." All are welcome.
Spiritual Growth book study
Resumes Fall of 2026
Chapel Annex
Sundays from 4:00-5:30 PM
We are a diverse group of women of all ages who desire to better understand ourselves and grow in our relationship with God and with each other. We meet throughout the year, typically September - April/May, and together we read and discuss books which relate to and encourage our spiritual growth. We also support one another in prayer. Depending on the length of the books we are reading, we read 4-5 books per year. We will start our year by reading Tish Harrison Warren’s new book What Grows in Weary Lands - on Christian Resilience. Please join us!
