Winter Retreat is for students, 9th-12th grade. This retreat is designed for a weekend of rest and renewal amongst the business of being in high school.

Winter Retreat is a weekend retreat, starting on Friday afternoon and ending on Sunday afternoon. Please click here to see a template schedule for this retreat.

The student registration fee for Winter Retreat is $300. If you are in need of financial assistance, please indicate that on your registration form and someone will be in touch. Or contact Rush or Lucy, and we can discuss options. We never want the cost of a trip to deter a student from joining us, so please let us know how we can assist you.

Winter Retreat is at a beautiful beach house called Southern Grace at Topsail Beach. This house sleeps 60 people. Students will sleep in rooms with peers of the same gender. Some students will share beds due to space. Rooms are assigned.

Meals on Winter Retreat are homemade by a volunteer cook from our congregation each year. Meals are kid-friendly. Snacks and drinks are provided throughout the weekend. Trust us, your student will not be hungry! Dietary restrictions can be listed on the registration and will be given to the cook in advance.

We travel to Topsail Beach in the mini-bus, church Suburban, and rental vans. All vehicles are driven by background checked adults.

This retreat’s curriculum often speaks on how we live as Christians in the world and strives to give students language and actions to live like Jesus. Over the past few years, we have focused on our church’s new values. The speakers on this retreat are Rush and Lucy.

Leadership on Fall Retreat consists of our Youth Staff (Rush and Lucy) and our high school small group leaders. Small group leaders are background checked adults who mentor youth year round at youth group on Sunday nights. Mentors are paired with a grade group and stay with that grade group for the year. So, if your student comes on Sunday nights, they will already know their leaders!
