Empowering orphans: Meet Sayadute

After her parents died, Sayadute’s dream of becoming a business owner seemed impossible. Homeless and struggling to care for her two siblings, she faced days without enough food or hope for a better future.

Everything changed when Sayadute joined a Zoe Empowers empowerment group sponsored by our church.  She received training in business, agriculture, health, and children’s rights, and a grant to start a business.  She started small—selling rubber tableware around town.

By the time she graduated from the Zoe program, Sayadute had turned her dream into reality. Today, she has her own store and has expanded her income by investing in lettuce farming.

Sayadute is no longer defined by loss. She is an entrepreneur, a provider, and proof that poverty can be overcome with opportunity and perseverance.

Help more young people like James overcome extreme poverty for good.

Join us in reaching our Lenten almsgiving goal of $28,500 to fund a new Zoe Empowerment Group—coming alongside orphaned and vulnerable youth and children in Liberia.
